The series features Resident Evil 2’s Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield as lead characters. Infinite Darkness seems to focus more on the horror element of the franchise instead of action. The new series will debut on Netflix in 2021.
Netflix is also working on a live-action adaptation of Resident Evil, which will tell a new story across two timelines. The first season will have eight episodes and it will be written by showrunner Andrew Dabb. Bronwen Hughes will serve as the director on this project. Both Hughes and Dabb will also be executive producers alongside Oliver Berber, Robert Kulzer, and Mary Leah Sutton.
